SCHOOL

I seriously can't believe my kiddos are already back in school! This year they are all in different schools. Karley is in 7th grade a the Middle School, Kryshna is in 4th grade at Park School and Kayden is in 1st grade at Pioneer School. The girls officially started yesterday and this is thier 1st day pic!

Kayden just went to meet his teacher, find his classroom and put away all his supplies in his desk.

Kayden loves to remind people whenever possible that he is now 6 years old - (does he enjoy making his mother feel OLD?)

So Ky-Ky wanted one showing his age - AND wearing his backpack like the other kids.

Kayden's backpack probably out-weighs him by 30# or so, but is this not the cutest picture?!

Kayden is still in his picture taking mode - so this is the one he took of me and Ky. Can you see the anxiousness on my face? I still get nervous every year when I have to send the kids off to school. I think I hid it well.

Then Ky had to try his hand at picture taking - with a little help from the Mom!
Sienna and Kayden are in the same class this year and boy, are they EXCITED! They look too little to be going to school EVERYDAY this year - What am I going to do?

This is their cute teacher - Miss Lukehart - they will have a great time!
This is a pic from this morning - Kayden's 1st official day of school and the girls 2nd. I felt really special when the girls asked me to do their hair this morning. They are so independent now that I hardly ever get to help them anymore. Isn't this cute?.... I mean, very grown up and sophisticated!Off they go to catch the bus - at least they all gave me a kiss and hug before they left - I didn't even cry this time! Kyler and I are now home alone and missing these guys !

HAPPY SCHOOL YEAR KIDDOS! I LOVE YOU!

Twin Falls Temple

I was so excited to be able to go through the Twin Falls Temple open house. I was going to pick-up Karley from the airport tonight, so we decided since I would be going that way, we would make a day of it. Bill felt he could not miss work, so Kryshna and I went and had a great time.

The temple is so beautiful.

Summer, Mom, Chelsey and Hailee

Clayton (Chelsey's boyfriend) came with us. Clayton, Chels, Dad, Mom, Me, Hailee and Krysh

Krysh at Shoshone Falls

We had lunch in the park.
Then we started taking pictures - I climbed on this thing-
Then we ALL did!

AH, the cute couple!

Picking up Karley from the airport. She had been in Salt Lake for 2 weeks with her Aunt Kym and had a blast. Now on to shop till we drop!

Fun in the Sun

Yesterday I woke up and decided to take the kids for some swimming at Manns Creek Reservior. Mom and Chels came with me and we had a great day!

Brynlei and Kyler love these little chairs.

Dinky had her very own seat - she does not enjoy the water at all!

Kayden was making a sand castle with a moat. All Kyler and Bryn wanted to do was stand in that moat! So, Kayden dug them their very own moats (which were basically a hole they could fill with water) and they spent their time refilling their little "moats" and standing in them. This was after we had been there a few hours, so yes - the diapers were OFF!

Krysh and Hailee could spend all day in the water.

Blog Obsessed!

This is a little conversation I had with Kayden tonight:
Kayden: "Mom, I want to take a picture."
Me: "Of what?"
Kayden: "You."
Me: "Why me?"
Kayden: "Cuz you are always on the computer putting pictures of us on there." (We just had a talk about why I put the picture of him in his undies on my blog - he was very against the idea)
Me: "OK, do you want me to pose?"
Kayden: "No, just lay there."

So here is the picture of me laying on the couch blogging. I have to admit this has become an all-too normal sight in the Sylvia house, but I am addicted! Dinky loves to lay on my butt while I am sprawled out like a beached whale - and I am usually there long enough that she almost always falls asleep! Am I pathetic?

Recent Projects

Here are a few of my recent projects.
This is our FHE chart. I cut the lettering with my vinyl cutter.

I let each of the kids pick scrapbook paper for their nametag. I had so much fun making these! Their names are out of vinyl as well. They love to move their tag each Monday after FHE. Kyler knows that his is the green one, and sometimes moves it more than neccesary!

This is a pillow/blanket that I made Kayden for his "quiet time" at school.

He can fold up the attached blanket and tuck it into the dinosaur pillow.
I have wanted to make a demin quilt out of old jeans for SO LONG! One day I just started hacking away at a box of old jeans and decided that Kayden would be the lucky recipiant. I put a few pockets here and there and they are my favorite part!

The back is out of the striped flanel that I used for the stars on the front.

I am now working on one for Kyler that I am super excited about. I will post pictures when I'm done!

WARNING: For those who are thinking of making a rag quilt out of denim, my hand is still recovering from all the cutting and sniping that is required to complete the project - but it is worth it!

Puppies!

Our Fertile Myrtle Chiuaua, Daisy Mae, had her 2nd litter of puppies July 31st. Only 3 this time - last time there were 4 ! This little hussy needs a trip to the vet! They are pretty darn cute though.

KAYDEN IS 6!

This adorable little boy is now 6 years old! This is Kayden at 2 years old.
So, Kayden loves Power Rangers and wanted a chocolate Power Ranger cake. Thank goodness for Aunt Hailee who is really getting into baking lately. She told him she would make the cake, but she did not know what a Power Ranger looked like. Kayden had the perfect solution -
I just got him these Power Ranger underwear last week when we went school shopping. He loves telling people that Hailee copied the Power Ranger from his tightie-whities! Anyway, mini Martha Stewart (Hailee) made an awesome cake!
Blowing out the candle!
This year Kayden had a little competition - The Olympics - here is everyone being total couch potatoes watching women's gymnastics.

As you can see, the TV was still on even during present opening!
Kayden bugged me for weeks because he wanted this gun SO BAD for his birthday!

Kayden on his new bike! He was riding around the horse pens showing off his skillz!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAYDEN JOE! WE LOVE YOU!
